Man Stabbed and Arrested After Fight at Cumberland Farms in Lewiston
LEWISTON — A violent altercation took place on Saturday night at the Cumberland Farms store on Sabattus Street, resulting in one man being stabbed and another man being arrested.

According to the police, the incident sparked numerous 911 calls at approximately 8:30 p.m. Multiple witnesses reported two men engaged in a physical altercation in the store’s parking lot. Furthermore, some callers informed the authorities that one of the men, later identified as Todd Lyons, aged 39, had sustained stab wounds.
In response, the police promptly secured the area, while additional officers conducted a search for the suspect. Witnesses claimed that the assailant had fled the scene in a vehicle with several other individuals. A short time later, the authorities spotted the vehicle nearby and conducted a traffic stop.

The police arrested 45-year-old Emerico Palacio from Auburn and charged him with aggravated assault. Palacio was transported to the Androscoggin County Jail in Auburn, where he remains in custody with bail set at $2,500.
Lyons was rushed to Central Maine Medical Center for treatment of his injuries, which were deemed serious but not life-threatening.
Subsequently, Lyons took to Facebook to recount his version of events. He claimed that he had stopped at Cumberland Farms to purchase a soda when he was unexpectedly attacked by a man who tried to steal his truck. Lyons shared images showing stab wounds on the back of his head, in addition to injuries sustained in other areas of his body.
The Lewiston police spokesperson stated that the initial investigation suggests that Lyons and Palacio had a verbal altercation in the parking lot prior to the stabbing.
The police are continuing their investigation into the incident.
