Man Fatally Shot in Northeast Washington, D.C. Identified by Metropolitan Police Department
WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) has identified a 37-year-old man who was tragically shot and killed in Northeast, Washington, D.C. on Friday. The incident occurred in the 600 block of Hamlin St., NE, and was reported to MPD at approximately 8:15 a.m.

Upon receiving the report of an unconscious person, MPD officers swiftly responded to the scene. There, they discovered the victim, Marcus Vines, with severe gunshot wounds, which ultimately proved fatal.
Marcus Vines, a resident of Northeast, D.C., tragically lost his life as a result of this senseless act of violence.
Authorities are urging anyone with information related to the incident to contact the MPD at (202) 727-9099 or utilize the department’s tip line by texting 50411. In recognition of the importance of community cooperation, a reward of up to $25,000 is being offered to any individual who provides information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for this heinous crime.
