Accident – Death – Obituary News : Vijayawada: A 50-year-old man was brutally assaulted and subsequently set on fire by his own son near Bhavadevarapally in Nagayalanka mandal of Krishna district on Saturday. The victim, identified as Bandi Hari Mohana Rao, worked as a mason in nearby villages.

According to the police, Hari’s wife had passed away a long time ago, and he lived in his own house with his son, Pawan Kalyan. Unfortunately, Pawan had fallen into the clutches of vices and had accumulated significant debts that needed to be cleared.

In an attempt to resolve his financial issues, Pawan had been pressuring his father for the past year to sell his land. However, Hari was unwilling to part with his property, leading to frequent quarrels between the father and son.

The horrific incident took place on Friday night when a heavily intoxicated Pawan engaged in a heated argument with his father over the same issue. Under the influence of alcohol, Pawan mercilessly beat his father, causing him severe injuries that proved fatal. Subsequently, Kalyan placed his father’s lifeless body on a cot inside the house, doused it with kerosene, and set it ablaze.

Upon receiving information about the incident, Avanigadda CI Ramesh and Nagayalanka SI Subramanyam immediately rushed to the scene. The police have launched a manhunt to apprehend the accused, who is currently on the run.
