Lahore Man Allegedly Kills Four, Including Ex-Wife and Father-in-Law

LAHORE: In a tragic incident, a man identified as Salman allegedly shot and killed four people, including his ex-wife and her father, in Lahore’s Salamatpura area. The incident occurred when the victims returned from a wedding event, according to the police.

The accused, Salman, reportedly opened fire on his ex-wife and her family, resulting in the deaths of his ex-wife, her father, sister, and brother. Two other family members, a 55-year-old woman named Taj Bibi and a five-year-old girl named Minahil, sustained injuries.

This incident follows another recent case of domestic violence in Dera Ismail Khan, where five members of a family were killed. The dispute began when a man from the Rehmani Khel area killed his wife for unknown reasons. In retaliation, the deceased woman’s brothers opened fire on the man’s father, mother, and sister, resulting in their immediate deaths.

Similar incidents of domestic disputes leading to fatal consequences have been reported across Pakistan. Just last month, a man in Baldia town, Karachi, allegedly shot his wife to death over a domestic dispute. The accused, Noorullah, a resident of Charsadda, had an argument with his wife, who then went to her parent’s house in Baldia Town. Two months later, Noorullah went to her parent’s house and shot her.

The rising number of domestic violence cases in Pakistan is a cause for concern. Authorities need to take immediate action to ensure the safety and well-being of individuals, especially women and children, who often become victims of such incidents. It is crucial to raise awareness about domestic violence and provide support systems for those affected.
