Lucas, 32, has been charged with two counts of murder in connection to the gruesome deaths of her sons, aged 6 and 9, on November 8. The tragic incident took place at their home in Shepherdsville, Kentucky, which is located about 20 miles south of Louisville. When deputies arrived at the scene, they discovered the two boys covered in blood, with a gun found on the bed.
The young victims, identified as Maurice Baker and Jayden Howard, were immediately rushed to the hospital in critical condition. Sadly, they later succumbed to their injuries. The tragic loss of these innocent lives has left the community devastated.
In light of the heinous crime committed by Lucas, the judge presiding over her case has set her bond at $2 million. However, Michelle Rice, the stepmother of Maurice Baker, believes that this punishment is not enough. In an interview with Law & Crime, Rice expressed her desire for Lucas to face the death penalty.
Rice stated, “If it goes to trial, it’s going to be a long process unless she somehow takes a deal for life in prison, but we want the death penalty. That’s what we want. She deserves to die.”

The grief and anger felt by Rice and the community are profound. Rice emphasized the loss suffered by the boys, saying, “They were sweet little boys, and they didn’t deserve it. She deserves the death penalty for this because there’s no reason behind them not being able to be here and celebrate Christmas today with us and to go to school and live their life now.”
The investigation into the tragic incident revealed that the injuries sustained by the boys were unsurvivable. Col. Alex Payne of the Bullitt County Sheriff’s Office commented on the possible motives behind Lucas’ actions, suggesting mental illness, substance abuse, or pure evil as potential influences. However, the exact reason remains unknown.
Moving forward, the case will undergo a thorough legal process, and justice will be sought for Maurice Baker and Jayden Howard. The community continues to mourn the loss of these young lives, while demanding accountability for the alleged crimes committed by Tiffanie Lucas.
