New Delhi: A 37-year-old Kashmiri man was apprehended by the Odisha Police Special Task Force (STF) for allegedly impersonating a PMO official and an Army doctor to deceive unsuspecting individuals. The individual in question has been identified as Sayed Ishaan Bukhari, also known as Ishaan Bukhari or Dr Ishaan Bukhari, and was apprehended from Neulpur village in Jajpur district, Odisha.

The man is believed to have connections with several individuals in Pakistan and suspicious elements in Kerala, according to STF Inspector General JN Pankaj. However, the top officer stated that no direct links were found between him and Pakistan’s Inter Services Intelligence (ISI), a spy agency.

“The accused was discovered to have impersonated a Neuro Specialist, an Army Doctor, an officer in the Prime Minister’s Office, a close associate of high-ranking NIA officials, among others. Various forged documents, such as medical degree certificates issued by the Cornel University of the USA, Canadian Health Services Institute, and others, were also seized,” Pankaj informed the press.

The senior officer further revealed that the accused has reportedly married six to seven women from different parts of India, including Kashmir, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Odisha. Additionally, while impersonating a doctor with international qualifications, he was involved in romantic relationships with numerous women, as per the official.

According to the official, the man is also wanted by the Kashmir Police in connection with a case of cheating and forgery, and there is one pending non-bailable warrant against him. “A joint team of police from Punjab, Kashmir, and Odisha will interrogate him,” Pankaj stated.
