Israeli forces have launched a brutal attack on Kamal Adwan Hospital in North Gaza, causing the deaths of numerous patients and injured Palestinians who were seeking refuge. Shocking footage uploaded by Al-Jazeera videographer and reporter Anas al-Sharif reveals that the Israeli forces stormed and bulldozed parts of the hospital, resulting in the burial and killing of dozens of innocent individuals.

The onslaught on Kamal Adwan Hospital has been ongoing for nine consecutive days, with reports emerging of Israeli forces indiscriminately shooting at anything within its vicinity. As a result, the hospital’s structure now lies in ruins, with the destruction being almost complete.

Furthermore, according to reports from Anadolu Agency, Israeli strikes on a home in Deir Al-Balah refugee camp in Central Gaza have caused the deaths of around 12 Palestinians, with 20 others wounded. The situation in Gaza remains dire, with both sides engaged in ongoing battles leading to casualties.

In another disturbing development, the Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem has expressed deep concern over the murder of two Christian women by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF). The incident occurred on December 16, 2023, when an IDF sniper fatally shot a mother and her daughter inside the Holy Family Parish in Gaza. The parish has been a sanctuary for many Christian families since the conflict began. The victims have been identified as Nahida and her daughter Samar. Tragically, seven others were also shot and wounded as they bravely tried to protect others within the church compound.

The Patriarchate issued a statement condemning the killings, highlighting that no warning or notification was given before the attack. The shooting took place within the premises of the Parish, where no belligerent activity was taking place.

Prior to the attack on the parish, the Convent of the Sisters of Mother Theresa (Missionaries of Charity) was targeted by an IDF tank rocket in the morning. The convent, which is home to over 54 disabled individuals, is part of the church compound and was clearly marked as a place of worship since the beginning of the war. The missile strike destroyed the building’s generator, the sole source of electricity, and the fuel resources. Subsequently, two more rockets were fired at the convent, rendering it uninhabitable. As a result, the 54 disabled persons have now been displaced, with limited access to life-saving respirators.

The Patriarchate expressed its profound sympathy and condolences to the affected families, denouncing the senseless tragedy that has befallen them.
