Israel Defense Forces (IDF) Confirms Deaths of Two Soldiers, Toll Rises to 121

Tel Aviv, Dec 17 (IANS) – The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) has sadly announced the demise of two soldiers, further adding to the toll of casualties since the commencement of ground operations on October 27, which now stands at 121.

The soldiers who lost their lives have been identified as Master Sergeant (res.) Joseph Avner Doran, aged 26, hailing from Jerusalem, and Sergeant Major (res.) Shalev Zaltsman, aged 24, from Ramat Yishai.

Avner Doran valiantly fought in the North Gaza Strip, serving within the IDF’s esteemed mobility unit in the Shayetet 13 commando force. Tragically, he succumbed to injuries sustained during the intense combat. On the other hand, Shalev Zaltsman fought bravely in southern Gaza, alongside the 55th Paratroopers Brigade, ultimately losing his life in the line of duty.

Since the IDF troops initiated their ground invasion of the Gaza Strip on October 27, they have been engaged in fierce battles against Hamas terrorists in both the northern and southern regions of Gaza.

This significant development marks a grave loss for the IDF as they mourn the sacrifice of two brave soldiers who dedicated their lives to protecting the nation.
