Accident – Death – Obituary News : Gopalganj (Bihar) [India], December 17 (ANI): The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has strongly condemned the brutal killing of a man in Gopalganj and criticized the Nitish Kumar government in Bihar, stating that the state is currently facing a “Jungle-raj” rather than the promised “Nitish-raj”.

The victim, identified as Manoj Kumar, had been missing since Monday night and his body was discovered on Saturday evening in the bushes of Gopalganj, Bihar. Reacting to the gruesome murder, Shehzad Poonawalla, the spokesperson for the BJP, criticized the INDI alliance and claimed that it poses a danger to sadhus and pujaris.

Poonawalla stated, “Today, Bihar is not under the governance of Nitish Kumar, but it is under the rule of jungle raj. The manner in which the 32-year-old Pujari was executed in Gopalganj, resembling an ISIS-style killing, is horrendous. He was shot dead, brutally tortured, his eyes gouged out, and his private parts were damaged. This incident reflects the uncivil and unsafe environment prevalent in Bihar.”

He further added that criminal elements and the mafia in Bihar believe that the state government is under their control, allowing them a free run to commit such heinous crimes. Poonawalla stressed that the safety of policemen, sadhus, saints, women, and young people is compromised in Bihar, questioning Nitish Kumar about the pressure on him that allows such incidents to occur.

The spokesperson pointed out that this pattern of violence against Hindu sadhus and saints has been observed in Congress-run Rajasthan, the MVA-run government in Maharashtra, and now in Bihar. He attributed it to vote-bank politics.

Meanwhile, Samrat Choudhary, the Bihar BJP President, emphasized that the current government in Bihar is dominated by the sand, liquor, and land mafia, and immediate action needs to be taken against them. He expressed his concern over the lack of action being taken by the authorities.

The killing of the man, who worked as a caretaker at a Shiva Temple in Danapur, sparked outrage among the locals. The angry mob pelted stones at the police in protest. To maintain law and order, Gopalganj Sadar Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Pranjal assured that adequate forces have been deployed in the village.

SDPO Pranjal provided details about the investigation, stating, “A young man named Manoj Kumar Shah, who worked as a caretaker at the Shiv Temple in Danapur, went missing. CCTV footage showed that he locked the temple himself and disappeared. During the investigation, his body was found in the Danapur area.”

He continued, “The body has been sent for postmortem. Some mischievous youth have been identified and an FIR has been registered against them. Internal family issues, including land disputes, have emerged during the investigation. Some people have been detained, and there were incidents of stone pelting. Necessary action is being taken.”

The investigation into the brutal killing is currently underway, and the authorities are working towards bringing the culprits to justice. (ANI).
