Further information has come to light regarding the apprehension of a G League basketball player who was recently released by the Stockton Kings. The player, Chance Comanche, was taken into custody in Sacramento County, and recent reports indicate that his arrest is connected to the disappearance of a woman in Las Vegas.

The missing woman, identified as 23-year-old Marayna Rodgers, was last seen on December 6th, as confirmed by her concerned loved ones who spoke to a local Las Vegas television station, KLAS-TV.

The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office, in collaboration with the FBI, played a crucial role in the arrest of Comanche, as initially reported by The Sacramento Bee. Following his detention, the Stockton Kings, an affiliate of the NBA’s Sacramento Kings, made the decision to release Comanche from their roster just before he was booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail.

KLAS-TV has disclosed that another individual, Sakari Harnden, aged 19, has also been arrested in relation to the case. Both individuals have been taken into custody on charges of first-degree kidnapping, according to the same source.

According to KLAS, the criminal complaint against Harnden for the kidnapping charge states that she unlawfully held or detained Rodgers against her will, with the intention of causing her harm or even causing her death.

Following her arrest, Las Vegas Justice Court Judge Diana Sullivan set Harnden’s bail at an amount of $500,000. The judge also instructed the prosecutors to promptly notify the court if the missing victim is found alive.

Comanche, on the other hand, is currently being held without bail in Sacramento based on jail records. He is scheduled to appear before a judge in Sacramento Superior Court at 3 p.m. on Tuesday.

According to close friends and family members who spoke with KLAS, Rodgers had a stable job as a medical assistant in Washington. She had traveled to Las Vegas for a vacation with her friends and would never willingly abandon her beloved dogs, which she had brought along on the trip.

It is worth noting that Comanche was present in the Las Vegas area on December 5th when the Stockton Kings played against the G League Ignite at the Dollar Loan Center in nearby Henderson, Nevada. During that game, Comanche showcased his skills with an impressive performance, scoring 16 points and securing six rebounds.

Following the game in Las Vegas, the Stockton Kings traveled to Portland, Oregon, where they faced the Rip City Remix on December 9th. Subsequently, they returned to California to compete against the Salt Lake City Stars on Tuesday. Comanche’s last game before his arrest was against the Stars, during which he achieved an outstanding performance, scoring 20 points on 9-of-11 shooting, along with 10 rebounds, two assists, two steals, and three blocked shots.
