According to the authorities, six out of the 11 identified suspects have now been apprehended, marking a significant breakthrough in the case.

The victim, Abhishek Sanjay Bhosale, 30, a resident of Shewalwadi in Manjari, was brutally murdered late on December 12 in the Fursungi area. The fatal attack was carried out by a group of 11 individuals following a heated road rage incident.

Assistant Inspector Nanasaheb Jadhav, who is leading the investigation, stated, “We have arrested the prime suspect, Vilas Sakat, and another suspect identified as Pramod Rakhpasre. With their arrests, the total number of apprehensions in connection with the case has reached six. Our search for the remaining five suspects is still ongoing.”

The prime suspect, Vilas Sakat, aged 38, and Pramod Rakhpasre, aged 19, have been remanded to police custody by a court in Pune.

In the days following the murder, the Hadapsar police arrested three suspects identified as Kailas Sakat, Sachin Sakat, and Prashant Rakhpasre. Subsequently, they apprehended the fourth suspect, Dnyaneshwar Rakhpasre. The authorities are continuing their efforts to locate the prime suspect and the remaining individuals involved in the crime.

The victim, Abhishek Sanjay Bhosale, was a successful entrepreneur engaged in the manufacturing and marketing of chairs, sofas, and office utilities. He also owned a warehouse for these items in the Fursungi area.

The tragic incident occurred on the evening of December 12 when Bhosale was driving his car in the Shewalwadi area. Vilas Sakat collided with Bhosale’s vehicle while engaged in an altercation with another individual over a minor dispute on the road.

An argument ensued between Bhosale and Vilas after the latter allegedly broke the rearview mirror of Bhosale’s car. The altercation prompted Bhosale to visit Sakat’s residence later that evening, around 9.30 pm, in an attempt to seek compensation for the damages and resolve the dispute. Accompanying Bhosale was his 18-year-old nephew, Atharva Sabale.

Outside Sakat’s house, Bhosale and Sakat engaged in another heated argument. Subsequently, a group of people, consisting of Sakat’s family members and friends, began assaulting Bhosale. The assailants brutally thrashed Bhosale, using an iron rod, a sharp machete, and a rock. Tragically, Bhosale succumbed to his injuries.

Abhishek Sanjay Bhosale is survived by his mother, wife, and a four-month-old baby. The family has already endured immense tragedy, as Bhosale’s father was killed in a hit-and-run accident just last year.
