PORTLAND, Ore. (KPTV) – Authorities are appealing for information regarding a potential victim of an attempted carjacking that took place in southeast Portland back in November, according to a statement released by the Portland Police Bureau on Saturday.

On November 29, around 10 a.m., law enforcement officers noticed a gold 2001 Chevrolet Suburban parked at the intersection of Southeast 96th Avenue and Southeast Harold Street. The vehicle had been reported stolen.

In an effort to apprehend the suspect, police attempted to block the Suburban with their patrol cars. However, the driver defiantly rammed through the blockade, initiating a high-speed chase. Despite the deployment of a spike strip, which successfully punctured two of the Suburban’s tires, the pursuit only came to an end when the stolen vehicle crashed at the intersection of Southeast 112th Avenue and Southeast Division Street.

Unfortunately, the driver of the white Kia left the scene before the police could gather any information. This incident occurred at approximately 10:15 a.m.

Officers are urging the driver of the white Kia to come forward and contact them via crimetips@police.portlandoregon.gov, addressing the email to East Precinct Officer Congdon and referencing case number 23-309047.

Furthermore, authorities discovered a stolen firearm and a stolen motorcycle inside the Suburban.

Taylor, who was already wanted in connection to another stolen vehicle, has been booked into the Multnomah County Detention Center. He is now facing a range of charges, including unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, possession of a stolen vehicle, illegal possession of a firearm, reckless endangerment of others, attempting to elude officers by vehicle and on foot, and first-degree criminal mischief.

If the victim of the attempted carjacking is located, Taylor may face additional charges, as stated by the police.
