Independence Woman Fatally Struck by Vehicle on I-70 near Adams Dairy Parkway in Blue Springs

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — An Independence woman tragically lost her life in a fatal accident on Saturday night when she was struck by a vehicle on Interstate 70 near Adams Dairy Parkway in Blue Springs, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP).

The incident took place shortly after 11 p.m. on Saturday night. It involved a 16-year-old driver from Odessa, Missouri, who was traveling eastbound on I-70, and a 24-year-old woman who was standing in the roadway.

As the driver approached the scene, they noticed the woman in their path and attempted to avoid a collision by swerving. Unfortunately, the front right portion of the vehicle struck the pedestrian, as reported by MSHP.

The victim, identified as Annamarie L. Ramirez, tragically succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene of the accident.

In response to the collision, the Blue Springs Police Department provided assistance alongside the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
