16-Year-Old Booked for Attempted Murder After Stabbing Friend Over Missed Calls

CHHATRAPATI SAMBHAJINAGAR: A shocking incident unfolded in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar when a 16-year-old boy allegedly stabbed his 19-year-old friend multiple times with a sharp-edged weapon. The motive behind the attack was reportedly the victim’s failure to respond to the suspect’s phone calls.

The injured youth, identified as Adarsh Ingle, a resident of Nyaynagar, sustained stab wounds to his chest and shoulder. He is currently undergoing treatment at a private hospital in the city.

The incident occurred late on Thursday night in the Nyaynagar area. After being stabbed, Ingle cried out for help, but the suspect fled the scene. Ingle immediately reported the incident to the police, leading to the booking of the 16-year-old suspect on charges of attempted murder and criminal intimidation.

Ingle recounted that during the attack, the minor questioned him about unanswered phone calls and his newfound friendships. The suspect, apparently upset by Ingle’s avoidance and increased interaction with other friends, resorted to the violent act.

Following the complaint, the police apprehended the minor on Friday and presented him before the child welfare committee. The committee subsequently ordered his placement in a juvenile home.

Inspector Rajesh Yadav commented, “Preliminary investigations have revealed that the minor boy and the injured youth were good friends for several years. The suspect claimed that he felt neglected as Ingle began avoiding him and spending more time with a new circle of friends.”

Both individuals involved in the incident hail from lower-middle-class families and reside in neighboring colonies.
