Rollover Car Crash on Route 20: Windsor Woman Fatally Injured

WINDSOR, Conn — Tragedy struck on Friday night when a rollover car crash on Route 20 claimed the life of a Windsor woman. The incident occurred around 10:20 p.m. and prompted state police response.

According to authorities, a Honda Accord traveling on the Eastbound side of Route 20 lost control and veered into the right shoulder. The vehicle collided with a light pole and a traffic sign before rolling over.

During the crash, the passenger, identified as 32-year-old Yashiramarie Santiago from Windsor, was ejected from the car. Despite immediate medical attention at a nearby hospital, Santiago was pronounced dead. State police stated that she was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.

The driver of the Honda Accord sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment, as confirmed by state police.

The immediate area surrounding the crash site was temporarily closed, with traffic rerouted off the exit for Route 75. State police are currently investigating the circumstances of the incident and are seeking any information or dashcam footage that could assist their inquiry.
