The Spotsylvania Sheriff’s Office has confirmed that skeletal remains found on 16th November belong to Terrence Smith, a 33-year-old individual, according to People magazine.
Smith had traveled from New York and arrived in Spotsylvania on 28th October to visit a female acquaintance. Concerns arose when he failed to return to New York, leading his family to report him missing on 1st November. The Sheriff’s Office issued a press release stating that Smith’s family became worried as his prolonged absence was out of character.
The investigation into Smith’s disappearance led detectives to his remains, which were discovered “not far from the home of the female acquaintance in the area of Timber Ridge Townhomes.” According to Pix11, it was also revealed that Smith’s bank account had been emptied during his time in Virginia, adding another layer of complexity to the case.
Michael Perry, Smith’s older brother, expressed the family’s bewilderment at the developments, stating, “I just don’t understand what’s happening down there. We know the prime people involved.”
