“Holly Man Killed in Motorcycle Crash with SUV in Highland Township”

Accident – Death – Obituary News : HIGHLAND TOWNSHIP (WWJ) – A tragic accident in Highland Township has claimed the life of a 31-year-old motorcyclist from Holly. According to the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office, the motorcyclist collided with an SUV on Friday evening, resulting in his untimely death.

When authorities arrived at the scene, they found the motorcyclist had been thrown from his bike during the crash. Despite the efforts of emergency responders, he was pronounced dead at the scene. The identity of the victim has not been released.

The preliminary investigation reveals that a 62-year-old Howell woman was driving a 2017 GMC Yukon XL when she made a left turn from westbound Livingston Road onto eastbound Highland Road. The SUV was in the left-turn lane for the median crossover when the collision occurred. The motorcyclist, riding a 2003 Suzuki GSX-R1000, crashed into the SUV, causing him to be thrown into the median.

Tragically, the motorcyclist sustained fatal injuries as a result of the crash. An investigator from the Oakland County Medical Examiner’s Office responded to the scene and took custody of the deceased. An autopsy has been scheduled to determine the exact cause of death and identify any other contributing factors.

Authorities have stated that there is no suspicion of alcohol or drug use by the driver of the Yukon, who was also wearing her seatbelt at the time of the incident. It has also been confirmed that the victim was wearing a helmet.

The Oakland County Sheriff’s Office Crash Reconstruction Unit is currently conducting an investigation into the incident, and no further details have been released at this time.
