Mankato, MN (KROC-AM News) – A tragic head-on collision occurred in the early hours of Saturday morning in south-central Minnesota, resulting in the loss of two lives.

According to the State Patrol, the fatal crash was reported shortly after 2:30 AM on a rural highway approximately 10 miles west of Mankato. Preliminary findings suggest that a southbound vehicle and a northbound vehicle collided head-on on Highway 15 in Brown County, just north of the town of Madelia.

Regrettably, both individuals involved in the collision were pronounced dead at the scene. The victims have been identified as 33-year-old Aaron Gronau and 28-year-old Luis Perez, both residents of New Ulm.

The road conditions were reported as wet at the time of the tragic incident. However, it is yet to be determined whether alcohol played a role in the collision.
