December 16, Fulton, Illinois – A domestic conflict took a violent turn on Friday night when a stabbing occurred in Fulton, leaving the community in shock. According to a news release from Fulton Police Chief Nicholas Neblung, the incident took place in the 700 block of 20th Avenue. The altercation quickly escalated, resulting in one individual sustaining a stab wound.

Fulton Police officers promptly responded to a reported domestic disturbance at approximately 7:03 p.m. While en route to the scene, the responding officer received information from Whiteside County Dispatch that a person had been stabbed and the suspect had fled in an unknown direction. The urgency of the situation prompted the officers to act swiftly.

Life-Saving Aid Provided at the Scene

Upon arrival, officers discovered a 47-year-old man inside the residence with a stab wound to his chest. Recognizing the severity of the injury, the officers immediately provided emergency medical aid to control the bleeding until Fulton Fire and EMS arrived at the scene. The injured man was subsequently transported to MercyOne Hospital in Clinton, Iowa. Thankfully, he is currently in stable condition as of early this morning.

Identifying the Perpetrator

The Fulton Police Department wasted no time in processing the crime scene and conducting interviews with multiple individuals present during the incident. Through careful examination of evidence and gathering information, authorities were able to identify the assailant as a 21-year-old Fulton resident. The suspect was located shortly after at another residence in Fulton. The individual was later released with minor injuries.
