Ranchi Tribal Singer Beaten to Death for Allegedly Molesting Mentally Retarded Girl
Ranchi, December 16 (PTI) – In a tragic incident that has left the community in shock, a 35-year-old tribal singer was mercilessly beaten to death for allegedly molesting a mentally retarded girl in Jharkhand’s Ranchi district. The local police have arrested three individuals in connection with the heinous crime.

The incident unfolded on Thursday evening at Tatkundo village, located approximately 30 km away from the capital city of Ranchi. Providing further details, Mandar sub-divisional police officer (SDPO) Ankita Roy informed PTI that the victim, identified as David Minz, fell victim to the brutal assault.
A popular singer known for his melodious Nagpuri songs, David Minz had gained significant popularity on social media platforms. His soulful renditions in the Nagpuri language had won the hearts of many.
According to local villagers, Minz’s songs often went viral on social media, making him a beloved figure within the community. However, tragedy struck when he was accused of molesting a mentally retarded girl residing in the village.
Mandar police station in-charge, Vinay Kumar Yadav, revealed that Minz was allegedly beaten to death with sticks by three members of the girl’s family. The incident occurred on Thursday evening, leading to severe injuries that required immediate medical attention.

Minz was rushed to Mandar referral hospital for initial treatment. However, due to the gravity of his injuries, he was subsequently transferred to the renowned Rajendra Institute of Medical Science (RIMS) in Ranchi. Unfortunately, despite the medical team’s best efforts, Minz succumbed to his injuries during treatment.
Following a complaint lodged by the victim’s wife, the police swiftly took action and apprehended the three accused, who are all relatives of the girl. The trio was produced before the court on Friday and subsequently sent to jail to await trial.
This tragic incident has sent shockwaves throughout the community, leaving everyone grieving the loss of a talented singer and questioning the brutality of the act. The local authorities are working diligently to ensure justice is served in this case, providing a sense of solace to the victim’s family and the community at large.
