Ludhiana Man Found Dead Near Bus Stand, Family Alleges Drug Overdose

Ludhiana: The body of a 28-year-old man, who had been missing since Thursday afternoon, was discovered near the Ludhiana bus stand on Friday morning. The deceased, identified as Baghail Singh, was allegedly a victim of a drug overdose according to his grieving relatives. Baghail Singh, a resident of Manjeet Nagar, was involved in the clothing retail business.
According to the father of the deceased, Ranbir Singh, his son left their house on Thursday on his scooter and did not return, causing them to initiate a search. However, their efforts proved futile. On Friday morning, they stumbled upon Baghail’s scooter parked on the roadside near the bus stand. Upon further investigation, they found Baghail’s lifeless body a few meters away. Ranbir Singh firmly believes that his son fell victim to a drug overdose administered by local drug peddlers.
Upon receiving the information, the police promptly arrived at the scene. The news of Baghail Singh’s tragic demise spread throughout the neighborhood, prompting residents to gather in protest and demand that the authorities take immediate action against the drug peddlers operating in the area.
Sub-inspector Neeraj Chaudhary, the Station House Officer at division number 5 police station, stated that the police urged the deceased’s family to provide their statements and consent to an autopsy to determine the cause of death. However, the family refused to cooperate and declined to have an autopsy conducted.
