Tragic Accident Claims the Life of a Young Woman on I-84 West in Sterling Township, Wayne County
STERLING TOWNSHIP, WAYNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) – In a devastating incident on Friday night, a 21-year-old woman lost her life after being ejected from her car during a crash on I-84 West. The tragedy took an even more heartbreaking turn when she was struck by a passing vehicle.

The Pennsylvania State Police responded to the distressing scene at approximately 10 p.m., following reports of a woman being ejected from her vehicle near mile marker 15.6 on I-84 West. The initial investigation revealed that the accident was a result of a one-car crash.
According to the state troopers, the young woman was driving along I-84 West when she unfortunately lost control of her car, colliding with a guide rail. The impact caused the vehicle to spin around violently, resulting in the driver being forcibly ejected through the passenger side window onto the highway.
Tragically, as other motorists slowed down to pass the scene of the crash, a woman driving by inadvertently struck the ejected driver. Despite immediate medical attention, the young woman was pronounced dead at the scene by the Wayne County Coroner.
In order to conduct a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident, the authorities had to temporarily shut down I-84 West for a duration of three hours. This closure allowed the dedicated emergency crews to meticulously assess the crash site and gather crucial evidence.

The victim has since been identified as 21-year-old Mackenzie Lawlor from Dingmans Ferry. The news of her untimely demise has left the community in shock and mourning.
