Tragic Accident Claims Life in Wilson County, Kansas
WILSON COUNTY — In the early hours of Friday, a devastating accident took place in Wilson County, Kansas, resulting in the loss of a young life. The incident occurred at approximately 2:30 a.m., leaving the community in shock and mourning.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, the fatal crash involved a 2006 Mazda 3 driven by 18-year-old Andrew Daniel Brown, a resident of Fredonia. The vehicle was traveling southbound on New Albany Road, approximately half a mile south of New Albany, when tragedy struck.
Unfortunately, Brown failed to navigate a sharp curve on the road, leading to the car veering off its intended path. The Mazda careened off the road’s edge, striking the ditch before becoming airborne and colliding with a tree. The impact caused the vehicle to roll over onto its roof, resulting in a devastating outcome.
Tragically, one of the car’s passengers, 19-year-old Jaryn Levi Yarnell from Erie, lost their life at the scene of the accident. Emergency services promptly arrived, but unfortunately, Yarnell’s injuries were too severe to be saved. The authorities pronounced their passing on-site and later arranged for transportation to Frontier Forensics for further investigation.
Emergency Medical Services (EMS) attended to both the driver, Andrew Daniel Brown, and another passenger, 18-year-old David Joseph Powell from Douglas. They were swiftly transported to Wesley Medical Center for medical care. Fortunately, all three individuals involved in the accident had been wearing their seatbelts, adhering to proper safety precautions.
