Three Suspected Robbers of Jaida Dacoit Gang killed in Clash with Police

RAWALPINDI, December 15th, 2023 – In a fierce exchange of gunfire between the police and the notorious Jaida Dacoit gang, three suspected robbers met their demise in Fauji Colony, Pirwadhai. Two other members of the gang managed to escape, evading the authorities.

The police received credible intelligence regarding the presence of the Jaida gang in Fauji Colony, where they were allegedly planning a robbery. Consequently, a specialized police team was formed to apprehend the robbers on Wednesday night.

According to the First Information Report (FIR), upon reaching the area, the police party made repeated announcements, urging the suspects to surrender as they were surrounded by the law enforcement agency. However, instead of complying, the criminals opened fire on the police, initiating a prolonged exchange of bullets.

Despite the intensity of the gunfire, the two police officers involved in the operation remained unharmed, thanks to their bulletproof vests. Subsequent to the cessation of gunfire, the police team cautiously entered the premises and discovered three severely wounded individuals, who later succumbed to their injuries.

During a thorough body search, the police recovered pistols, bullets, and cell phones from the deceased robbers. The authorities confirmed their identities as Javed Ahmed Khan, also known as Jaida, Fazal ur Rehman, alias Percha, and Izzatullah.

While three members of the gang were neutralized, two others managed to flee into the darkness towards Nullah Lai, firing shots as they escaped. A widespread search operation is currently underway to apprehend the fleeing criminals and bring them to justice.

Following the incident, SP (Superintendent of Police) Rawal, Faisal Saleem, and DSP (Deputy Superintendent of Police) City, Sardar Babar Mumtaz, rushed to the crime scene accompanied by a contingent of police officers.

The police spokesman acknowledged the commendable efforts of the officers involved in combating the Jaida gang. CPO (City Police Officer) Syed Khalid Hamdani expressed his appreciation by awarding a cash prize and an appreciation certificate to SHO (Station House Officer) Pirwadhai and his team. SDPO City, Sardar Babar Mumtaz, was also present during the ceremony.
