Three people were tragically killed and six others sustained injuries in a devastating road accident that occurred in Jamalpur’s Sadar upazila earlier today.

The deceased have been identified as Anowar Hossain, aged 40, from Dhanbari upazila in Tangail; Shamsul Hossain, aged 52, from Chhontia village in Jamalpur Sadar; and Soja Mia, the driver of the human hauler, whose age is yet to be determined.

Anowar and Shamsul were both vegetable traders, according to Muhammad Mohabbat Kabir, the officer-in-charge of Jamalpur Sadar Police Station.

The tragic accident took place in the Titpalla bus stand area along the Jamalpur-Tangail highway at approximately 6:45am. It involved a Dhaka-bound bus operated by Sadnan Paribahan, an auto-rickshaw running on compressed natural gas (CNG), and a locally made human hauler. The bus collided with the auto-rickshaw, which subsequently crashed into the human hauler, causing severe damage to all three vehicles and resulting in the loss of lives and injuries.

Both Anowar and Shamsul were passengers in the auto-rickshaw and unfortunately lost their lives at the scene of the accident. Additionally, two passengers in the CNG auto-rickshaw and seven passengers in the human hauler sustained injuries, as confirmed by OC Kabir.

All the injured individuals have been rushed to Jamalpur General Hospital for medical treatment. However, Soja Mia, the driver of the human hauler, succumbed to his injuries at the hospital, as reported by OC Kabir during the noon update.
