HYDERABAD – Abdullahpurmet police, in collaboration with LB Nagar police, have successfully apprehended three individuals who were allegedly involved in an attempt to smuggle a massive 360 kilograms of ganja. The illicit drugs were being transported from Rajamahendravaram in Andhra Pradesh to Meerut in Uttar Pradesh. The police teams intercepted the suspects’ car near the Outer Ring Road (ORR), close to Sampoorna Hotel, where they discovered a significant quantity of the banned narcotic.

At a media briefing held on Thursday, Rachakonda Commissioner of Police (CP), G Sudheer Babu, provided further details about the operation. The accused, identified as Vikas Tyagi (29), Abrar (30), and Amiruddin (32), all hailing from Uttar Pradesh, were found to be interstate transporters-cum-consumers. Their modus operandi involved accepting cash and ganja as payment for their services.

During the course of the investigation, it was revealed that the three arrested individuals were operating under the instructions of an unidentified mastermind. This mastermind provided them with a four-wheeler to collect the ganja from Andhra Pradesh and deliver it to a receiver in Meerut. The identity of the mastermind is yet to be determined. Following their arrest, the trio was produced before a judge and subsequently remanded to judicial custody.
