Edmonton Police Charge Third Suspect in March Bar Shooting

Edmonton police have announced the arrest and charging of a third suspect in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred at a popular northside bar in March 2022. The incident claimed the life of one man and left seven others injured.

The newly charged suspect has been identified as Samatar Mohiadin, a 26-year-old individual. He is now facing first-degree murder charges in relation to the death of Imbert George, who tragically lost his life during the shooting incident at the Ertale Lounge on 118 Avenue at 124 Street.

The shooting incident unfolded during the early hours of March 12, 2022, when Edmonton police received a distress call from the Ertale Lounge. Upon arrival, officers discovered that a total of eight individuals had been shot after an estimated 60 to 70 rounds of ammunition were fired into the crowd.

Following the incident, diligent police work led to the apprehension of two suspects who were attempting to flee the scene in a vehicle. Mohamod Mohamod, aged 23, and Said Ibrahim, aged 24, were subsequently charged with first-degree murder in connection with the shooting.

However, the investigation did not stop there. On December 3, police in Winnipeg carried out an arrest of Samatar Mohiadin as part of a separate investigation into drug trafficking and firearms. Mohiadin was transported back to Edmonton on December 9, where he was officially charged in relation to the Ertale Lounge shooting.

Edmonton police credited their success in identifying Mohiadin to footage captured by surveillance cameras located at 167 Avenue and 127 Street. This footage was released to the public on April 12, 2022, leading to the positive identification of the third suspect.

While the authorities have made significant progress in the case, they are still actively searching for two additional individuals involved in the shooting incident. One of the outstanding suspects has been identified as Saed Osman, a 28-year-old individual wanted on charges that include first-degree murder.

Osman, who has strong ties to Edmonton, is a known member of the Go Gertem Gang (GGG) and is currently featured on Canada’s 25 Most Wanted list. The Bolo Program, an organization dedicated to assisting law enforcement agencies in locating fugitives, is offering a reward of up to $75,000 for information leading to Osman’s arrest.

According to the Bolo Program, Saed Osman also goes by the alias Guled Osman and is known to use the nickname Styles. He is described as a black male with brown eyes and black hair, standing at six feet tall and weighing approximately 180 pounds. Notably, Osman has a distinctive scar on his right wrist.

Although Osman hails from Ontario, his presence in Edmonton suggests that he may still be in the area. The Bolo Program encourages any individual with information about Osman’s whereabouts to come forward and assist in the ongoing investigation.

The Bolo Program, short for “be on the lookout,” operates as a national initiative that harnesses the power of social media, technology, and public engagement to encourage citizens to remain vigilant and report potential criminal activity.

Additionally, authorities are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a fifth individual involved in the shooting incident. The unidentified suspect was captured on video surveillance wearing a grey coat, dark pants, and a black balaclava.
