Accident – death – Obituary News : Nashik: Tragic Accident Claims Life of Woman in Autorickshaw Collision with Speeding Truck

Nashik witnessed a heartbreaking incident on Tuesday when a woman lost her life in a fatal collision between an autorickshaw and a speeding truck in the Wadner Road area. The incident took place around Tuesday evening, leaving the entire community in shock and grief.

The Upnagar police have registered a First Information Report (FIR) against the unidentified truck driver under Section 304-A, which deals with causing death by negligence. The autorickshaw driver, Sanjay Pagare, narrated the sequence of events leading up to the accident.

Pagare stated that he was carrying two passengers in his autorickshaw from Pathardigaon to Nashik Road. While they were passing near a petrol pump on the Pathardi-Nashik Road route, tragedy struck. A speeding truck crashed into the rear of the autorickshaw, causing it to topple sideways due to the impact. As a result, Pagare and the passengers were ejected from the vehicle.

Regrettably, one of the passengers, identified as Priya Jadhav, a 31-year-old resident of Pathardi, suffered severe head injuries and succumbed to them instantly. The truck driver managed to escape from the accident scene, leaving behind a trail of devastation.

Pagare, who briefly lost consciousness during the accident, regained his senses only to discover that one of his passengers had sustained critical injuries. Jadhav was immediately rushed to Bytco Hospital, where she was pronounced dead. Devastated by the news, Pagare visited the Upnagar police station to lodge a complaint against the unidentified truck driver.

The Upnagar police have begun their investigation into the case, aiming to bring the responsible party to justice. However, this was not the only tragic incident to occur on that fateful day in Nashik.

Another accident claimed the life of Gulam Mustafa, a 53-year-old man who was riding his motorcycle on the Nashik Road flyover. He was hit from behind by a pick-up vehicle at around 7:15 pm. Sadly, the driver of the pick-up fled from the scene, leaving Mustafa to succumb to his injuries.

2. Auto driver helps woman nab pickpocket, recover 11k: In Bengaluru, an auto driver named Yousuf came to the rescue when he caught a woman pickpocket near Silk Board junction. The accused, Kavitha M, had stolen Rs 11,000 from a passenger on a BMTC bus. Yousuf, who had previously seen Kavitha, aided the victim in locating her. Together, they found Kavitha near Roopena Agrahara bus stop and successfully retrieved the stolen money. Despite Kavitha’s attempt to pickpocket Yousuf’s phone, she was apprehended and handed over to the police. Kavitha claimed it was her first offense and that she needed money for urgent personal matters.

3. All trucks in India to have AC cabin for drivers from Oct ’25: Details: The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has mandated that all newly manufactured trucks falling under the N2 and N3 categories must have air-conditioned (AC) cabins for drivers starting from October 1, 2025. This decision aims to improve the working conditions and welfare of truck drivers across the country. The air-conditioning systems in the cabins must adhere to the testing criteria outlined in IS14618:2022. Despite objections, Union Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari persists in advocating for air-conditioned cabins as a necessary measure for the well-being of truck drivers in India.

These incidents serve as a grim reminder of the risks and challenges faced by individuals on the roads every day. The authorities must take swift action to ensure the safety and security of all citizens, implementing measures that prevent such tragic accidents from occurring in the future..
