“Deandre Rodriguez of Brockton Arrested in East Bridgewater Drug Transaction”

In a recent incident in East Bridgewater, two individuals have been apprehended for their alleged involvement in a drug transaction. The incident took place near the Carriage Crossing Shopping Center at 225 Bedford St. on Wednesday afternoon, as reported by Police Chief Michael Jenkins.

At approximately 3 p.m., a detective conducting surveillance in an unmarked cruiser observed what appeared to be a drug transaction between an individual driving a Subaru SUV and another individual in a pickup truck. Acting swiftly, officers responded to the scene and detained 24-year-old Deandre Rodriguez from Brockton, along with a 32-year-old man from Duxbury.

A subsequent search of Rodriguez’s vehicle led to the discovery of significant quantities of illegal substances. The officers found 43.2 grams of Fentanyl, a potent opioid, along with 1.4 grams of Crack Cocaine. Additionally, they uncovered packaging materials and a substantial amount of cash.

As a result, Rodriguez is now facing several charges, including Distribution of a Class A Substance (Subsequent Offense), Trafficking Fentanyl (More Than 10 Grams), Possession of a Class B Substance, and Conspiracy to Violate Drug Law.

The search also yielded a small amount of white powdery substance concealed within a folded receipt in the wallet of the 32-year-old Duxbury man. The substance was later determined to be Fentanyl. Consequently, the individual is being summoned on charges of Possession of a Class A Substance (Fentanyl) and Conspiracy to Violate Drug Law. The arraignment will take place at Brockton District Court on a later date.
