The shocking act of violence occurred on the bustling Calchaquí and Jujuy avenues. Costa, riding a white Honda Tornado motorcycle, was caught off guard by the thief, who arrived on a blue Yamaha FZ without a license plate. This accomplice remained on the stolen motorcycle while the assailant approached Costa.

As the thief attempted to start the stolen motorcycle, the presence of passing vehicles, including a line 148 bus, garnered attention from witnesses. Shouts and insults were hurled at the criminal, creating a tense environment.

Seizing an opportunity, Costa struck the assailant with his helmet, causing him to fall to the ground. However, the criminal quickly recovered and fired a fatal shot at Costa’s chest before fleeing on the stolen motorcycle.

The entire incident was captured by a bystander, who recorded the murder on their mobile device. Additionally, a passenger on the line 148 bus also documented the sequence of events as the assault unfolded in front of the stopped vehicle.

The case is currently under investigation by the Functional Instruction Unit (UFI) 5 of the Judicial Department of Quilmes, led by prosecutor Jorge Saizar. The police have managed to identify two suspects, aged 17 and 19, with one of them already in custody.
