Beckley, WV (WOAY) – Beckley Police have arrested Marquest Fortune in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred on December 10.

According to a press release from the Beckley Police Department, Marquest Fortune, an 18-year-old resident, was arrested on December 14 at his home around 11:45 pm.
Fortune is facing multiple charges including first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder, use of a firearm during the commission of a felony, and seven counts of wanton endangerment.
The incident took place on December 10th at approximately 1:20 am when officers responded to a shots fired call on the 200 block of Clyde Street.
Upon arrival, officers found the victim, identified as 20-year-old Traysouan Robertson, suffering from a single gunshot wound.

Emergency services arrived at the scene and attempted life-saving measures, but unfortunately, Robertson was pronounced dead.
