41-Year-Old Man Charged with Murder in Clayton County

CLAYTON COUNTY, Ga. — In a tragic incident, a 41-year-old man has been arrested and charged with murder in the shooting death of his 56-year-old father in Clayton County, Georgia. The Clayton County Police Department revealed on Friday that Michael Lambert, the son of the victim, Daryl Holmes, has been identified as the person responsible for the heinous crime.

The authorities were alerted to the incident when Holmes was found dead in his home on Wednesday. The police had been called to the residence on Friar Ct. the previous night, Tuesday, December 12, due to a domestic disturbance between the father and son.

According to a statement released by the Clayton County Police Department, after the responding officers had intervened and left the location, the dispute between Holmes and Lambert continued. This led to growing concern for Holmes’ safety when family members were unable to contact him on December 13, 2023. Subsequently, Holmes’ lifeless body was discovered within his home.

The authorities wasted no time in apprehending the suspect. Lambert was arrested in Lake City the day after his father’s lifeless body was found. The investigation into the motive behind the crime is ongoing, and the police are working diligently to gather evidence and build a strong case.
