VIRUDHUNAGAR: A devastating explosion at a firecracker manufacturing factory near Sattur in Virudhunagar district claimed the life of a 38-year-old man on Friday. The deceased has been identified as Shanmugaraja (38).
According to sources from the Fire and Rescue department, the incident occurred when the victim was handling chemicals to produce crackers in one of the working sheds.

As soon as the information was received, the Fire and Rescue team rushed to the spot and promptly extinguished the raging fire that had engulfed the factory. They managed to retrieve the charred body of the deceased, which was then transported to a nearby hospital for post-mortem examination.
