PORTERVILLE, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A 29-year-old woman has been taken into custody by the Porterville Police Department following a shooting incident that occurred nearly five months ago. The arrest brings closure to a case that has been under investigation for several months.

On the evening of July 17, law enforcement officers swiftly responded to a report of a shooting in the 200 block of North Westwood Street in Porterville. Upon arrival at the scene, the officers discovered two juveniles with gunshot wounds, indicating the severity of the incident. At the time, the suspect’s identity remained unknown, and it took investigators until December 13 to locate and apprehend the individual responsible for the crime.

The primary suspect in this case has been identified as Yadira Chavez, a 29-year-old woman. Following her arrest, she was transported to the Tulare County Jail, where she awaits further legal proceedings.
