Police Arrest Youth for Attempted Murder after Rejected Marriage Proposal
CHARUMMOODU: In a shocking incident, a 28-year-old woman narrowly escaped death after a youth, identified as 24-year-old Ananthu from Nooranad Thathamunna, attempted to kill her for rejecting his marriage proposal. The accused had been persistently harassing the woman for several days before resorting to violence.

The incident took place on the night of December 7 when the accused approached the woman and demanded that she accompany him to his house. When the woman firmly refused, Ananthu viciously attacked her with his helmet. The victim sustained severe injuries to her head and hand but managed to escape from the scene. She subsequently reported the incident to the police.
Following the attack, Ananthu went into hiding but was later apprehended by the police in Charummoodu. Authorities revealed that the accused is a known drug addict. Ananthu has been remanded by the court pending further investigation.
The investigation team responsible for cracking the case comprised of CI P Sreejith, SIs S Nidheesh, Subash Babu, and CPOs Manu, Kannan, and Shibu.
