21-Year-Old Shot and killed at Akron Drive-Thru Over Argument About a Few Dollars and a Cigar

AKRON, Ohio — A tragic incident unfolded late Tuesday night at a drive-thru in Akron, Ohio, resulting in the death of a 21-year-old man. According to reports from Cleveland TV stations WOIO-19 and WEWS-5, the fatal shooting occurred following an argument over a few dollars and a cigar. The incident has left the community shocked and mourning the loss of a young life.

The Borders Drive Thru, located in the 1300 block of South Arlington Street, became the scene of the shooting at approximately 11:15 p.m., as detailed by both TV stations. Ahmad Alibrahim, a store clerk, was tragically shot and killed during the altercation, as confirmed by the Summit County Medical Examiner’s Office.

According to reports, the deadly altercation began when the suspect attempted to purchase a cigar using cash that was in poor condition. Alibrahim informed the suspect that the payment could not be accepted, leading to an argument between the two parties. The disagreement escalated quickly when the suspect produced a firearm, as reported by WOIO.

In an attempt to defuse the situation, Alibrahim handed the suspect the desired cigar and requested him to leave the premises. Unfortunately, the suspect fired multiple shots at a group of employees, with one bullet tragically finding its mark on Alibrahim’s neck, according to WOIO.

Upon arrival at the scene, law enforcement discovered Alibrahim with a gunshot wound to his neck. Tragically, he was pronounced dead, leaving the community in shock and disbelief.

The Summit County Medical Examiner’s Office has ruled the shooting as a homicide. Authorities believe the suspect to be a man between the ages of 18 and 25, as reported by WOIO. At present, no arrests have been made, but local law enforcement is diligently reviewing surveillance footage from the area in hopes of identifying the gunman, who fled the scene after the incident, as stated by WEWS.
