Police Arrest Young Man in Connection with Attacks on Two High School Girls in Baldwin Park

Police in Baldwin Park have apprehended a young man believed to be responsible for assaulting two high school-aged girls earlier this month, according to authorities. The arrest was made on Thursday, and the suspect has been identified as Moses Vallecillo, an 18-year-old male.

The first assault occurred on December 8th at approximately 9 a.m. in the 3900 block of Big Dalton Avenue. Just a few days later, on December 12th around 4:30 p.m., a second attack took place near the 3600 block of Vineland Avenue and the 3500 block of Ahern Drive. The Baldwin Park Police Department provided information about the incidents on their Facebook page.

Both victims reported that Vallecillo sexually assaulted them and was armed with a knife during the attacks. In the first incident, Vallecillo approached a girl from behind while she was distracted by her cellphone. He grabbed her buttocks and attempted to steal her phone, resulting in a struggle. The girl was then pushed against a fence and dragged across the street by the suspect, but she managed to break free. The second victim was also able to escape from Vallecillo’s grasp.

Sergeant Norman Gonzalez of the Baldwin Park Police Department expressed concern for the victims, stating, “I can only imagine as a young female walking down the street alone how scared you would be.”

Following the incidents, detectives conducted a thorough investigation in the area, which led to the discovery of surveillance images showing the suspect wearing a black surgical mask. With the assistance of the Baldwin Park Unified School District, investigators were able to identify Vallecillo and apprehend him. A search warrant executed at the suspect’s residence yielded evidence linked to the two assaults.

Vallecillo now faces charges of attempted robbery, attempted kidnapping, sexual battery, and assault with a deadly weapon.
