TOBA TEK SINGH:

In a horrifying incident in Mohalla Heera Colony, a man along with unidentified suspects, brutally gunned down his mother, sister, niece, and two brothers-in-law, leaving the community in shock. The Toba Tek Singh police are currently investigating the shocking crime.

Abdul Qadeer, a retired railway employee, had been living in a rented house in Hira Colony. His permanent residence was 762-GB Tehsil Kamalia of District Toba Tek Singh. The suspect, Imran, allegedly went to the residence of his second brother-in-law, Abdul Khaliq, in Neelam Jabbar Town, where he killed Khaliq and injured his nephew, Osama. Osama was immediately rushed to the District Headquarters Hospital for medical treatment.

The motive behind this tragic incident is suspected to be a property dispute. DPO Ibadat Nisar has formed a special team led by SDPO of Saddar Circle, Muhammad Faheem, to apprehend the suspect and bring him to justice.

This incident highlights a disturbing trend of fratricidal killings in the Mianwali district. Over the past few years, such incidents have been on the rise, causing concern among the local community. Previously, most killings in the district were a result of tribal and communal disputes, but now, the situation has drastically changed.

In the last year alone, the district has witnessed 51 fratricidal killings. This alarming increase indicates a decline in patience and endurance even within families. Additionally, there have been 49 deaths due to enmity and 54 cases of suicide.

In February 2022, a man killed his brother over a minor altercation and later took his own life. Similarly, in the Jhabri area of the district, another man killed his younger brother before turning the gun on himself. These incidents highlight the severity of the issue.

The Toba Tek Singh police are working diligently to address this disturbing trend and ensure the safety of the community. Efforts are being made to resolve conflicts peacefully and promote understanding among family members to prevent such tragic incidents in the future.
