Arrest Warrant Suspect Drags Deputy, Flees Scene in Cameron Park

The El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call regarding a suspicious vehicle in the 2200 block of Knollwood Drive, Cameron Park. Upon locating the vehicle, identified as a white 2023 Nissan Titan pickup truck, deputies approached the driver, who has now been identified as 31-year-old Deondre Kamela Bottoms.

During the encounter, it was discovered that Bottoms had an active arrest warrant. However, the situation escalated when he suddenly accelerated his truck, dragging one of the deputies along and causing the officer to be forcefully thrown several feet to the ground. Another deputy was also injured when Bottoms allegedly struck him before fleeing the scene. The suspect’s reckless escape involved collisions with other vehicles in the process.

The El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office has labeled Bottoms as a person of interest in this incident. The truck involved in the incident bears license plate “STX3791” and exhibits noticeable body damage on the rear passenger door.
