Dublin-Area Schools on Secure Status as Police Search for Attempted Murder Suspect

DUBLIN, Ohio — Students and staff within Dublin-area schools were instructed to stay indoors on Thursday afternoon as authorities conducted a search for a suspect in the vicinity. The Dublin Police Department collaborated with a U.S. Marshals task force to locate a man wanted for attempted murder. As a precautionary measure, five school buildings were placed on a “secure” status, with an officer stationed at each school.

The search area encompassed the Wyandotte Woods subdivision, Emerald Fields, and nearby apartments and condominiums. Dublin police have expressed their belief that the suspect, identified as 48-year-old Christopher Back, has left the area.

Following the conclusion of the search, the schools lifted the alert, and students were dismissed at their regular time.

Christopher Back stands accused of stabbing another man multiple times at a residence on the east side of Columbus on December 10th.

According to the police, Back was last seen in the 7600 block of Scioto Crossing Drive in Dublin.
