Suspect Arrested After Failed Attempt to Steal Guns from Shreveport Pawn Shop

SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) – A suspect has been apprehended after a burglar’s unsuccessful burglary attempt at a Shreveport pawn shop was captured on surveillance footage earlier this week.

The security footage shows the burglar falling through the ceiling and subsequently smashing open multiple glass display cases.

In the video, the suspect can be seen hurling larger-caliber weapons through the initial hole he entered and stuffing numerous handguns into his jeans.

Desperate to escape, the suspect tries various methods to leave through the ceiling, but fails multiple times, resulting in falls.

Upon arrival, Shreveport police officers witnessed two suspects fleeing across the roof of the pawn shop. They managed to apprehend one suspect, identified as 19-year-old James Napier.

Police successfully recovered 12 stolen firearms that were abandoned by the would-be thieves at the scene.

Napier now faces a charge of simple burglary in connection with the incident.
