Burglar’s Failed Attempt at Stealing Guns from Shreveport Pawn Shop Leads to Arrest

SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) – A suspect has been apprehended after a daring burglary attempt at a Shreveport pawn shop was captured on surveillance footage earlier this week.

The burglar’s ill-fated plan was foiled when he crashed through the ceiling, leaving a trail of destruction in his wake.

The shocking video shows the suspect plummeting through the ceiling before forcefully breaking open multiple glass display cases.

With adrenaline pumping, the burglar aggressively tossed larger-caliber weapons through the hole he initially entered, stuffing numerous handguns into his jeans.

Desperate to escape, the suspect tried various methods to exit through the ceiling, leading to multiple falls and further damage.

Upon arrival, Shreveport police officers witnessed two suspects fleeing across the roof of the pawn shop. Fortunately, they managed to apprehend one of the suspects, 19-year-old James Napier.

The officers successfully recovered 12 stolen firearms that had been abandoned by the would-be thieves at the scene.

James Napier, now facing charges of simple burglary, will have to answer for his ill-advised actions.
