Brookhaven Police Release Photo of Suspect Vehicle in North Druid Hills Homicide

The Brookhaven Police Department has recently shared an image of a vehicle they believe to be connected to a tragic homicide that occurred near the intersection of North Druid Hills and Interstate 85 on December 8, 2023. In addition to the photo, the police have also provided further details regarding the incident.

According to the Brookhaven Police Department, the incident was initially reported through a 911 call, which described a person being struck by a vehicle. The caller stated that they witnessed an older model silver Honda Pilot traveling on North Druid Hills Road, with an individual’s feet hanging out of the passenger side door. The vehicle continued onto the I-85 southbound ramp and eventually came to a stop by the curb. The driver proceeded to pull the passenger out of the vehicle, ran over the victim’s feet and legs, and swiftly fled the scene.

Upon the arrival of the officers, they discovered the victim to be unresponsive. Emergency Medical Services (EMS) promptly initiated life-saving measures and, during their assessment, found that the victim had suffered a single gunshot wound to the chest. Despite their valiant efforts, the victim was pronounced deceased upon arrival at Grady Hospital.

Following the incident, the Brookhaven Police Criminal Investigations Division conducted interviews, obtained video footage from nearby businesses, and successfully identified the suspect vehicle as a 2003-2008 Honda Pilot. The vehicle is described as having an unknown license plate and a noticeable dent on the rear driver’s side bumper. Video evidence obtained from a local McDonald’s revealed that the suspect vehicle entered the parking lot at approximately 3:45 p.m. The occupant of the vehicle engaged in a conversation with the victim, who then left on foot. Shortly after, the victim returned and entered the vehicle. The surveillance footage captured the suspect vehicle leaving the McDonald’s with the victim’s feet still partially outside the vehicle.
