Bridgeport Police Seek Public’s Assistance in Identifying Person of Interest in Murder Investigation
BRIDGEPORT, CT — The Bridgeport Police Department is appealing to the public for help in locating a “person of interest” in connection with a recent murder case. The body of 37-year-old Rickeyta Baker was discovered inside a shopping cart in an East End parking lot on November 3.

According to the authorities, surveillance video footage revealed that a male individual was seen wheeled Ms. Baker into the parking lot in the shopping cart on October 31, 2023, at approximately 3:30 a.m. The person was then observed walking north of Fifth Street shortly afterward.
Det. Jeffrey A. Holtz, of the Bridgeport Police Homicide Unit, stated, “Detectives are requesting the public to pay special attention to the individual’s walk and jacket, as they believe he may be familiar with the East End and possibly reside there.”
The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner conducted an autopsy on Ms. Baker, and the results are currently pending.
