Driver Charged with Four Counts After Fatally Striking Innocent Man in Detroit

The driver responsible for fatally striking an innocent man while fleeing from the police in Detroit has been charged with four counts, according to authorities.

The incident took place on Monday, December 11, at around 9:15 p.m. on the southbound lane of M-39 (Southfield Freeway) at Grand River Avenue. The victim, a man in his late 50s, was sitting in his vehicle when the tragic accident occurred.

Michigan State Police have clarified that they were not actively pursuing the driver, who has been identified as a man in his 20s.

The man in his 20s is facing the following charges:

• DWLS causing death
