Austell Woman, 76, Fatally Struck by Car While Crossing South Gordon Road in Mableton
MABLETON — Tragedy struck in Mableton as a 76-year-old Austell woman lost her life on Wednesday when she was hit by a car while attempting to cross South Gordon Road, according to Cobb County Police, who released a statement on Thursday.

The fatal collision occurred around 6:45 p.m. just east of Factory Shoals Road. Reports indicate that a blue 2021 Honda Civic, driven by a 27-year-old Austell woman, was traveling west on South Gordon Road towards Factory Shoals. Unfortunately, the elderly woman, identified as Rosa Moore, stepped into the path of the oncoming Honda and was struck by the vehicle.

The driver of the Honda immediately brought the vehicle to a controlled stop in the driveway of a nearby gas station. Emergency services were called to the scene, but tragically, Rosa Moore was pronounced dead by the Cobb County Medical Examiner’s Office upon their arrival.

On Wednesday, tragedy struck in Mableton, a suburban area in Cobb County, as a 76-year-old woman from Austell lost her life in a fatal accident. Reports indicate that a 27-year-old woman from Austell was driving a blue 2021 Honda Civic heading west on South Gordon Road towards Factory Shoals. Unfortunately, Rosa Moore unknowingly stepped into the path of the oncoming vehicle and was struck by the Honda.
Immediately following the accident, the driver of the Honda managed to bring the car to a controlled stop in the driveway of a nearby gas station. Authorities and emergency services were promptly notified and arrived at the scene. Tragically, Rosa Moore was pronounced dead by the Cobb County Medical Examiner’s Office upon their arrival, highlighting the severity of the collision.
