28-year-old woman arrested for murder of man who harassed and attacked her

Ponneri police apprehend woman in connection with brutal murder

The Ponneri police have successfully arrested a 28-year-old woman in relation to the heinous murder of a 24-year-old man. The victim, identified as Gopalakrishnan, was brutally attacked and killed by the woman, along with an anti-social element and his associates. This shocking incident occurred as a result of Gopalakrishnan’s persistent harassment and physical assault on the woman, demanding that she continue their relationship.

According to police sources, Gopalakrishnan, who resided in Balaji Nagar, Ponneri, was employed by a courier firm. The woman, known as Priya, was married to an autorickshaw driver and had two children. However, due to her estranged relationship with her husband, she entered into a romantic involvement with Gopalakrishnan.

Upon discovering Priya’s new friendship with Jilla, also known as Anandan, an anti-social element residing in Chetpet, Gopalakrishnan grew furious. He not only reproached her for forging a connection with another man but also physically assaulted her in her own home. In response to this traumatic incident, Priya conspired with Anandan and his associates to seek revenge.

Executing their plan, the group ambushed Gopalakrishnan on Wednesday night near Ponneri, subjecting him to a vicious knife attack. After perpetrating this act of violence, the assailants swiftly fled the scene, leaving Gopalakrishnan in a critical condition. The Ponneri police promptly arrived at the location and immediately rushed the victim to a government hospital. Tragically, the medical staff declared Gopalakrishnan dead upon arrival, and his body was subsequently sent for post-mortem examination.

Law enforcement authorities wasted no time in taking action, apprehending Priya on charges of murder. Additionally, five more individuals have been detained in connection with this savage crime. The Ponneri police are currently conducting further investigations to gather more evidence and ascertain the full extent of the involvement of all parties.
