Details of the Incident

According to another witness, Pfender lived in the garage where he was found dead. The witness informed the police that Gray and Pfender, along with a group of people, were hanging out in the garage earlier in the night. Gray became upset when Pfender made a comment he found disrespectful. However, witnesses believed that the situation had been resolved, and everyone had gone their separate ways within the home.

During the early hours of the morning, around 4 a.m., Gray knocked on the door of one of the roommates who was playing video games. Gray informed the roommate that Pfender was not breathing. Instead of seeking immediate medical assistance, Gray reportedly confessed to the roommate, “I killed Mike.” Gray then suggested farfetched ideas to dispose of Pfender’s body, but the roommates ultimately decided to call 911, as reported in a probable cause arrest affidavit by Penn Live.

Cause of Death and Arrest

An autopsy conducted by the Lancaster County Coroner’s Office revealed that Pfender’s cause of death was multiple traumatic injuries, confirming the incident as a homicide. Authorities also noted a defensive wound on Pfender’s right hand.

Gray surrendered himself to the Lancaster City police station later that morning. He is currently being held without bail in the Lancaster County Prison. His upcoming court hearing is scheduled for December 18.
