“18-Year-Old Ethan David of Indianapolis Fatally Shot in Greenwood: Suspect Arrested on Felony Murder Charges”

GREENWOOD, Ind. — New details have emerged regarding the fatal shooting that occurred in Greenwood on Sunday evening, resulting in the death of 18-year-old Ethan David from Indianapolis. Court documents filed on Thursday in Johnson County reveal that 17-year-old Quincy Stringer has been arrested and charged with felony murder in connection with the incident.

The shooting, which reportedly stemmed from a drug deal, took place on December 10. Police discovered David’s body inside a parked car on Liberty Way Drive in the Central Park neighborhood of Greenwood at around 7 p.m.

According to court documents, a 911 call was received at 6:39 p.m. on Sunday, reporting a shooting near Central Park. Witnesses in the area claimed to have heard a gunshot and saw two individuals wearing hoodies fleeing the scene in a westward direction.

Upon investigating the crime scene, authorities found a single 9mm Hornaday casing on the sidewalk near the vehicle that David had been in. Additionally, an iPhone, drugs, and drug paraphernalia were discovered inside the car.

An analysis of the iPhone revealed conversations between David and an individual identified as “d,” discussing the planned meet-up on Sunday evening. The phone also showed evidence of two cash transfers to the same contact.

Through interviews with neighbors and individuals connected to the incident, investigators were able to identify Quincy Stringer as the suspect in the shooting. One person, who played a role in planning the incident but remained unidentified by the police, admitted to overhearing Stringer and another individual discussing a plan to rob their drug supplier, referred to as a “plug.”

Stringer and the other person arranged to meet David at a park in their neighborhood, with the intention of approaching him, inquiring about the drugs he was selling, and then robbing him. The arrest of Stringer and the other individual involved in the incident was made after officials received information that Stringer planned to mail the weapon used in the shooting to an address in Kentucky.

Following Stringer’s arrest, a search warrant was executed at his residence, resulting in the discovery of a Taurus 9mm handgun, marijuana packaged in a clear plastic bag, a black Diamondback Firearms 9mm handgun, and a Hornaday 9mm Luger ammunition box.

In another interview, the person reportedly in a relationship with Stringer informed detectives that she had witnessed Stringer holding two firearms, one of which was identified as belonging to David, during multiple FaceTime calls. However, when questioned by the police about the incident, Stringer refused to provide any information.

The investigation into the fatal shooting is ongoing, and Stringer is currently facing charges of felony murder. The case serves as a reminder of the dangers associated with illegal drug transactions and the need for increased community safety measures.
