Accident – Death – Obituary News : FORT LAUDERDALE, FLA. – In a shocking incident, a 13-year-old boy has been identified as the suspect who allegedly shot a cashier multiple times during an attempted robbery at a convenience store in Pembroke Pines, Florida. The incident took place at the Pasadena Drive Thru Food Store, situated in the vicinity of University Drive and Pasadena Boulevard. Pembroke Pines Police revealed that the young suspect, Joshua Munoz, carried out the crime, leaving the local community stunned.
John Oonnoonny, the owner of the food store, expressed his disbelief, stating, “We’ve been here for about five to six years, and I live in this community. We were not expecting something like this to happen.” The brazen act took place during a time when most middle school-aged teenagers would typically be engaged in homework or extracurricular activities.

According to investigators, the victim, a store clerk, was at the cash register when they attempted to escape the dangerous situation. However, Munoz pursued the victim and opened fire, striking the clerk multiple times. Oonnoonny, who is also a member of the same church as the victim, received the distressing call from the injured clerk. “He called at 5:40 to say that he got shot, that he’s running to an apartment there, that he has two bullets,” Oonnoonny recounted. “I immediately advised him to call 911 for help.”
Emergency medical services rushed to the scene and transported the wounded victim to a nearby hospital for urgent medical treatment. Meanwhile, law enforcement swiftly apprehended the suspected shooter, Joshua Munoz. He now faces charges of attempted homicide, possession of a firearm by a juvenile, and armed robbery. Additionally, Munoz had an active felony warrant for armed robbery, resulting in further charges being applied.
Pembroke Police Capt. Adam Feiner stated, “By apprehending Munoz, it is believed that we have successfully removed a violent and dangerous criminal from the streets.” Munoz is scheduled to appear before a judge on Thursday to face the charges brought against him.
As for the victim, who only works a few hours a week at the food store as a favor to the owner, authorities anticipate a full recovery. The incident has left the community shaken, emphasizing the importance of increased security measures and vigilance to prevent such incidents in the future.
